MAGAZINES AND REVUES

We have to make a difference between those dedicated to golf and those, more general, in which golf only appeared from time to time.
 
In our countries, the first magazine was published by Daninos (the uncle of the well known writer) in 1914 under the name "Tennis et Golf".
 
During the 20's, appeared a outsider : "Le golf" later "Le golf et les golfeurs" and subtitled "Revue illustrée des golfs du continent" : clearly dedicated to golf in Continental Europe - even if mostly in France.
 

 
   
 
At that time, many other magazines were featuring a lot of beautiful pictures. A special dsitinction to "Fémina". This magazine was the sponsor of a championship, born in 1908, which was regarded as the French Ladies' Close Championship. An other example is listed below :
